1. MLB – New York Mets at Cincinnati Reds Moneyline (7/19/21)
The New York Mets finished with seven homers on Monday night, defeating the Cincinnati Reds 15-11 in extra innings. In the bottom of the 9th inning, Jesse Winker doubles, and Aristides Aquino scored, tying the game 9-9.
New York’s Kevin Pillar scored in the top of the 10th, putting them 10-9. However, in the bottom of the 10th, the Reds retaliated when Mike Freeman scored. But it was the top of the 11th where the Mets went wild. First, Jose Peraza scored, and the Mets took an 11-10 lead. Then, Pillar homered, and Jeff McNeil and Anthony Banda scored. Finally, Michael Conforto homered to close out the top of the 11th. Bad beat for those who bet the Reds moneyline. It’s always tough to lose in extra innings. However, great night for the Mets, as they have not hit seven homers in a game since 2017.
2. MLB – Los Angeles Dodgers at Colorado Rockies (7/18/21)
Another game of extra innings! The Colorado Rockies defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-5 on Sunday night. In the bottom of the 9th inning, Ryan McMahon scored for the Rockies, tying the game at 4-4. In the top of the 10th, the Dodgers took a 5-4 lead after Albert Pujols scored. And in the bottom of the 10th, not only did the Rockies tie the game 5-5, but Charlie Blackmon homered. The Rockies defeated the Dodgers 6-5. What a way to end a game.
Unfortunate ending for the Dodgers fans and bettors, but what a finish for Colorado and Blackmon.
