1. NBA – Milwaukee Bucks at Brooklyn Nets Moneyline (6/19/21)
In case you missed the Game 7 thriller between the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday, the Bucks defeated the Nets 115-111 in overtime. This is what NBA Playoff games are all about, right? However, what was most exciting about this game is how the Nets forced it into overtime.
With 1.6 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Kevin Durant made a shot for the Brooklyn Nets that appeared to be a three pointer. However, his foot was right on the three-point line, and so the shot was only worth two points. Instead of the Nets taking a 110-109 lead, the shot instead tied it at 109. This game would not have gone into overtime if KD’s shot counted as a three pointer. The Bucks outscored the Nets in overtime, and unfortunately for Nets bettors, the Bucks won 115-111. The Bucks will face the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
2. NHL – Vegas Golden Knights at Montreal Canadiens Moneyline (6/20/21)
Overtime has been very trendy in the Stanley Cup Playoff series between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Montreal Canadiens. Both Friday night’s and Sunday night’s games went into overtime. On Sunday, just 1:18 into the overtime period, Nicolas Roy scored a goal for Vegas, winning the game 2-1. This Golden Knights win tied the series at 2-2.
Bad beat for those who bet on the Habs to win Game 4. However, the Canadiens had won Games 2 and 3, so I can understand why they might have been an interesting team to bet on Sunday night.
