Here’s a look at this week’s bad beats:
1. NBA – Milwaukee Bucks at Memphis Grizzlies Moneyline (3/4/21)
Close game for the Milwaukee Bucks and Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night. With 7.3 seconds left in the game, the Grizzlies went up 111-110 after Ja Morant scored. It was a little too close for comfort with such little time left. With just two seconds left, Milwaukee’s Jrue Holiday made a jumper, putting the Bucks up 112-111.
The Grizzlies decided to take a timeout, and Memphis’ Desmond Bane went for a three pointer at the buzzer, but he missed it. The Bucks defeated the Grizzlies 112-111. What a bad beat for Memphis moneyline bettors. A very close one, indeed.
2. College Basketball – Colorado State Rams at Nevada Wolf Pack Spread and Moneyline (3/5/21)
The Colorado State Rams were 2.5-point underdogs going into the game against the Nevada Wolf Pack on Friday. Colorado State’s Isaiah Stevens and David Roddy each scored 20 points. The Rams’ Kendle Moore also had a solid performance, finishing with 15 points.
However, it was Nevada who came out victorious. With 57 seconds left in the game, Colorado State’s Moore made his second free throw, tying the game at 82. And with just two seconds left in the game, Nevada’s Grant Sherfield ruined the hopes and dreams of Colorado State spread and moneyline bettors with a three pointer. Nevada won 85-82. If Sherfield had scored with a two-point shot, the Rams still would have lost, but at least they would have covered the 2.5-point spread. That’s rough.
3. NBA – Golden State Warriors at Portland Trail Blazers Moneyline (3/3/21)
With 51.5 seconds left in the game, the Golden State Warriors were up 106-103. With a personal foul on Golden State’s Kent Bazemore, Damian Lillard was sent to the foul line for the Portland Trail Blazers. Lillard made both free throws, putting the Trail Blazers down just a point.
With 14 seconds left on the clock, Lillard made a three pointer, giving Portland a two-point lead. With 3.5 seconds left in the game, there was a foul on Draymond Green. Portland’s Robert Covington missed both free throws, and there was still a chance for the Warriors to come back with 3.5 seconds left. Golden State’s Damion Lee went for a three pointer, but the Warriors were unable to reclaim the lead. The Trail Blazers defeated the Warriors 108-106. Unfortunate ending for the Golden State Warrriors moneyline bettors.
