1. NBA – Atlanta Hawks at New York Knicks Moneyline (5/23/21)
Sunday night’s NBA Playoffs Round 1 game between the Atlanta Hawks and New York Knicks was certainly a thriller. With 10.2 seconds left, New York’s Derrick Rose made a shot, tying the game at 105. This is what we love about sports though, right?! Tie games with 10 seconds left on the clock! And for Knicks and Hawks moneyline bettors, the heart rate was certainly rising at this point.
With 0.9 seconds left in the game, Atlanta’s Trae Young made a jumper, putting the Hawks up by two points. The Knicks couldn’t retaliate with such little time left. The Atlanta Hawks walked away with the Game 1 victory, defeating the New York Knicks 107-105. Bad beat for the Knicks moneyline bettors and Madison Square Garden game-goers.
2. NBA – Miami Heat at Milwaukee Bucks Moneyline (5/22/21)
You love to see overtime in NBA Playoff games…unless your team loses in overtime. Miami’s Jimmy Butler sent this one into OT on Saturday night after making a shot at the buzzer in the fourth quarter.
With 20.6 seconds left in OT, Goran Dragic made a three-pointer for the Heat, tying the game at 107. Double OT looked very likely, but 20.6 is a lot of time in basketball. With 0.5 seconds left in OT, Khris Middleton made a jumper, giving the Bucks a two-point lead with very little time left on the clock. The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Miami Heat 109-107. Tough luck for those who bet the Miami moneyline. However, I do think that Saturday’s game was better than Monday’s game for Miami moneyline bettors. On Monday, the Bucks defeated the Heat 132-98. Ouch.
