Here’s a look at this week’s bad beats:
1. NBA – Atlanta Hawks at Milwaukee Bucks Moneyline (6/23/21)
The Atlanta Hawks took Game 1 of the series against the Milwaukee Bucks, winning 116-113. With 29.8 seconds left in the game, Atlanta’s Clint Capela made a shot, giving the Hawks a 112-111 lead. Milwaukee’s Jrue Holiday got fouled, sending Trae Young to the line for two free throws. He made both shots, and the Hawks led by three points.
With 5.3 seconds to go in the fourth quarter, Solomon Hill got fouled, sending Giannis Antetokounmpo to the line. Giannis made both shots, and the Bucks were down just one point. However, Trae Young made two more free throws after a foul on P.J. Tucker. The Hawks went up 116-113. The Bucks still had 4.6 seconds to try and make a comeback. Khris Middleton went for a three pointer, but missed it, and that was the end of the game. Bad beat for Bucks moneyline bettors, as it was a close one, indeed.
2. MLB – Houston Astros at Detroit Tigers Moneyline (6/27/21)
Extra innings. You know it’s an exciting game when there are extra innings in baseball. The Houston Astros took a 1-0 lead on Sunday in the top of the 4th after Jose Altuve scored. The Detroit Tigers did not retaliate until the bottom of the 7th inning when Akil Baddoo singled and Willi Castro scored, tying the game 1-1.
Another run didn’t come until the bottom of the 10th inning when Robbie Grossman sacrificed and Baddoo scored for the Tigers. The Tigers won 2-1 in extra innings. Unfortunate ending for the Astros moneyline bettors, but shoutout to the Tigers for keeping the momentum in the 10th inning.
