Here’s what you absolutely can’t miss this upcoming week in sports:
1. NBA – Milwaukee Bucks at Phoenix Suns (7/17/21 at 9pm)
The Phoenix Suns are 4.5-point favorites and -170 on the moneyline heading into Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Milwaukee Bucks. The series is currently tied at 2-2, and many people think there will be a Game 7. The odds for there to be a Game 7 are currently -125.
There are a few things I like heading into Game 5. First, I like the Suns moneyline at -125. I also like Chris Paul over 21.5 points (-108). Another player prop I like on the Suns side is Devin Booker over 28.5 points (-122). He finished with a game-high 42 points on Wednesday. If you’re looking for something else with a little more value, I like Deandre Ayton over 1.5 assists (+128). He finished with five assists in the last game in Milwaukee, so I don’t think over 1.5 assists at home will be a problem. On the Bucks side, I like Khris Middleton over 25.5 points (-114). He finished with a team-high 40 points in Game 4.
2. PGA Tour – The Open Championship Final Round (7/18/21)
South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen is in first place after Round 2 of The Open Championship. He finished the round at 5-under and is now at 11-under on the tournament. Prior to Round 2, Jordan Spieth was the favorite to win at +380. He is now in third place at 8-under on the tournament. Louis Oosthuizen was +480 to win The Open prior to Friday’s round. Collin Morikawa, who is now in second place at 9-under on the tournament, was +1500 to win heading into the second day.
I like either Oosthuizen or Spieth to win The Open. Oosthuizen is two strokes ahead, and he played really well in Rounds 1 and 2. I think he has the ability to pull ahead even more on moving day if he stays consistent. I like Spieth to move into either first or second place on Saturday. Dustin Johnson also made some big moves in Round 2. He finished the round at 5-under and is now 7-under on the tournament. While I don’t like him to win the tournament, I like him to finish in the Top 5.
