In Between the Lines: Chapter 24
Time flies when you’re having fun. There is a lot going on this weekend in college basketball with March Madness. There are a plethora of player props and odds boosts available to bet on in the Tipico Sportsbook app.
With a stacked sports schedule comes fervent sports bettors. “In Between the Lines” gives avid fans and sports bettors exactly what they want. Looking ahead to the upcoming week in sports, “In Between the Lines” offers inside analysis on line movements and key stats.
Here’s what you absolutely can’t miss this upcoming week in sports:
1. College Basketball – March Madness Sweet 16: Villanova Wildcats at Baylor Bears (3/27/21 at 5:15pm)
The Baylor Bears are 7.5-point favorites heading into the Sweet 16 matchup against the Villanova Wildcats. The Gonzaga Bulldogs are currently the favorite to win the NCAA Championship at +140, but Baylor is right behind them at +350.
The Bears are -300 on the moneyline against the Wildcats. With an impressive 24-2 overall record this season, I like Baylor to not only win, but also to cover the 7.5-point spread. Without Collin Gillespie, Villanova just isn’t the same team. Additionally, Villanova hasn’t really been tested yet so far this March Madness. They have only played against Winthrop and North Texas. So, this game against Baylor will be their first true challenge.
2. College Basketball – March Madness Sweet 16: Oregon State Beavers at Loyola Chicago Ramblers (3/27/21 at 2:40pm)
The Loyola Chicago Ramblers have been nothing short of impressive so far in this March Madness. In case you missed it, Loyola upset the No. 1 seed Illinois Fighting Illini 71-58 on Sunday in the Second Round. Many bracket-makers and bettors had Illinois at least making it to the Final Four, but hey, upsets happen.
The Ramblers are currently 6.5-point favorites and -320 on the moneyline. I like Loyola on the moneyline in this one. They have played well and smart, and let’s face it, the Ramblers don’t want to let down Sister Jean.
3. College Basketball – March Madness Sweet 16: Oregon Ducks at USC Trojans (3/28/21 at 9:45pm)
I believe in the Oregon Ducks. I mean come on, they knocked off the No. 2 seed Iowa Hawkeyes on Monday in the Second Round. The Ducks didn’t win by one or two points either. They defeated the Hawkeyes 95-80. However, I do want to say congratulations to Iowa’s Luka Garza, who finished with 36 points against Oregon.
The Ducks are currently 1.5-point underdogs going into this Sweet 16 matchup against the USC Trojans. This will be Oregon’s fifth Sweet 16 under head coach Dana Altman. Oregon does need to watch out for USC’s Mobley brothers. Isaiah Mobley finished with 17 points against the Kansas Jayhawks in the Second Round. Evan Mobley finished with 10 points.
Oregon's Chris Duarte and LJ Figueroa were unstoppable against Iowa. Duarte finished with 23 points and Figueroa finished 21. I think they could bring that same heat again against the Trojans. So, I like the Ducks on the moneyline at +105.
