Here’s what you absolutely can’t miss this upcoming week in sports:
1. NBA – Toronto Raptors at New York Knicks (4/24/21 at 1pm)
In case you missed it, as of Wednesday, the New York Knicks have won eight straight games. Not only has Julius Randle been unstoppable, but five Knicks players finished in the double digits against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night. Randle finished with 40 points. Immanuel Quickley and Derrick Rose finished with 20 points each. Reggie Bullock finished with 18 points and RJ Barrett finished with 16. The Knicks are now 4th in the Eastern Conference. This is their longest winning streak since 2014.
The Toronto Raptors haven’t been doing too bad either, winning four straight. In Toronto’s win over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday, Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby finished with 27 and 25 points, respectively. Both the Knicks and the Raptors are tied at +10000 along with the Golden State Warriors and Indiana Pacers to win the NBA Finals. That being said, I still like the Knicks on the moneyline on Saturday.
2. NBA – Philadelphia 76ers at Milwaukee Bucks (4/24/21 at 3:30pm)
The Philadelphia 76ers are currently in 1st place in the Eastern Conference. With 39 wins and 19 losses, they are right ahead of the Brooklyn Nets who also have 39 wins, but 20 losses. The Milwaukee Bucks are in third place with 35 wins and 22 losses. The Bucks and Sixers have met once already this season in March. The Bucks defeated the Sixers 109-105 in overtime.
The Sixers have lost their last three games against the Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks, respectively. Joel Embiid has been the most consistent player for the Sixers. Despite their loss against the Suns, Embiid still scored 38 points. In the game against the Warriors, he scored 28 points. He is really carrying the team right now. When Tobias Harris is on, he is also a key player for Philadelphia.
I like the Bucks on the moneyline against the Sixers on Saturday. The Bucks defeated the Sixers 124-117 on Thursday. The Bucks have quite a few players that can consistently put up big numbers. Khris Middleton, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday all finished in the double digits against the Suns. Giannis finished with 33 points, Middleton with 26 and Holiday with 25. It would be a rarity if these three didn’t finish in the double digits.
