In Between the Lines: Chapter 25

Before I get into what I like about this Final Four matchup, I just want to say congratulations to the UCLA Bruins for making it this far in the tournament. They went from the First Four to the Final Four, upsetting the Michigan Wolverines 51-49. UCLA has not made it to the Final Four since 2008. UCLA’s Johnny Juzang also deserves a shoutout, as he finished with 28 points, leading the Bruins to this impressive victory. 

However, like I have been saying all along, I like the Gonzaga Bulldogs to win it all. So, naturally I like the Zags to defeat UCLA. The Bulldogs are 14.5-point favorites and -1500 on the moneyline. Based on the way they have been playing, it’s easy to like them at -14.5. Everyone thought that their Elite Eight game against USC would be close, but they won by 19 points. Gonzaga had three players finish with at least 18 points against USC: Drew Timme (23), Corey Kispert (18), Jalen Suggs (18). Timme, Kispert and Suggs are all very consistent. I like Timme to drop at least 20 points and Kispert and Suggs to each drop at least 15.

2. College Basketball – March Madness Final Four: Baylor Bears at Houston Cougars (4/3/21 at 5:14pm)

The Baylor Bears are 5.5-point favorites against the Houston Cougars heading into Saturday’s Final Four matchup. I have a ton of confidence in Baylor to win this one with no problem at all. I like Baylor on the moneyline and at -5.5. Baylor has won every March Madness game so far by at least nine points.

Houston, on the other hand, had a bit of a nail-biter earlier on in the NCAA Tournament. Their Second Round game against Rutgers was way too close for comfort. They ended up winning 63-60, but that game was stressful. Houston’s Elite Eight performance was a bit better, but still Houston only beat Oregon State by six points.

As aforementioned, I like the Bears on the moneyline at -220. If you want to make it interesting, which I strongly encourage, why not go for a parlay with Baylor moneyline and Gonzaga -14.5? Since the start of the season, I have though it would be Baylor and Gonzaga playing each other in the NCAA Tournament Final.
