2-leg alternative line parlay play: Baylor (+8.5), Baylor/Gonzaga OVER (155.5)
Odds: +140
Leg 1: Baylor +8.5
In a matchup that possibly only rivals Miley Cyrus covering songs to a roaring crowd of 30 in pure entertainment terms (Kidding!), college basketball fans, thanks to Jalen Suggs’ HUEVOS GIGANTES, finally get the game we’ve clamored for the entire season. And, raising the stakes, it’s for the whole damn enchilada. Similar to the toughness and resolve UCLA exhibited, Baylor will keep this one close from start to finish. Yes, Gonzaga is the nation’s most eruptive offense, totaling a ridiculous 1.307 points per possession this NCAA Tournament, but the Bears’ ability to barrage opponents with threes (38.0 3PT% in NCAAT), implies it can and likely will erase deficits, big or small. Jared Butler, Davion Mitchell, MaCio Teague and Adam Flagler are more than capable of matching the Bulldogs blow for blow. Defend the interior as it did against Houston, and it could hoist the hardware come night’s end.
Leg 2: Baylor vs. Gonzaga (OVER 155.5)
Assuming I’m applying the obscure and meandering metaphor correctly, Sir Charles, Baylor/Gonzaga is a game full of Jims, not Joes. They are, after all, the No. 1 (Gonzaga) and No. 2 (Baylor) ranked teams in points per possession scored on the season. Each showcases superb scorers at every position. Each can inflict damage when on near proximity, midrange or outside shots. More importantly for the over’s sake, each pushes the pace whenever possible. In a free-flowing contest that will resemble an NBA game, 0.5 might be the over/under on shot-clock expirations. It’s also important to note Baylor is on an OVERs tear, eclipse the proposed total in 14 of its last 17 games. Unless the Bulldogs are completely exhausted after the UCLA thriller, Monday’s title game should finish in the 80s.
