Garden State Gridiron - Offseason Preview - Free Agent Wish Lists

Free Agency Wish Lists for the Giants, Jets, and Eagles

Free Agency Wish Lists

NFL Free Agency unofficially kicks off this coming Monday as the next step in an offseason that has already been incredibly eventful. We’ve seen big trades and surprise cuts, setting up one of the most interesting free agency periods we’ve seen in a long time.

Today, we’ll take a look at the top 10 players on each of our Garden State teams’ wish lists going into the legal tampering period. These wish lists take team needs, team tendencies, scheme fit, salary cap situation, and the cohabitation matrix.

New York Giants

The New York Giants enter free agency as a team with the building blocks in place to make a run at the NFC East division title in 2021. They have a core of young skill players and some veteran foundational players holding down the defense. They are tight against the cap and will likely make a few more releases and restructures to give themselves a little flexibility to bring in some talented players.

  1. DT Leonard Williams (Franchise Tagged)
  2. RT Mitchell Schwartz
  3. EDGE Bud Dupree
  4. WR A.J Green
  5. DT Dalvin Tomlinson
  6. WR Corey Davis
  7. CB Mike Hilton
  8. EDGE Yannick Ngakoue
  9. OG J.R. Sweezy
  10. CB Breshaud Breeland

New York Jets

The New York Jets enter free agency as one of the teams with the greatest opportunity. Following a very successful 2020 NFL Draft, the acquisition of 2021 NFL Draft capital, and the removal of some higher priced veterans from the previous regime, the Jets are positioned to make some of the splashiest signings in free agency.

  1. WR Kenny Golladay
  2. WR Will Fuller
  3. CB Richard Sherman
  4. WR Curtis Samuel
  5. TE Jonnu Smith
  6. WR JuJu Smith-Schuster
  7. FS Marcus Maye (Franchise Tagged)
  8. CB Brian Poole
  9. CB Michael Davis
  10. TE Gerald Everett

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles enter free agency at the start of a new era in their franchise’s history. A new coaching staff and starting quarterback will give a different look to a team that became stale in 2020. The new coaching staff will likely have significant influence on this free agent class. The Eagles are also in a very difficult salary cap situation, so they will likely be searching for bargain players.

  1. CB Xavier Rhodes
  2. FS Malik Hooker
  3. LB Kevin Pierre-Louis
  4. WR Josh Reynolds
  5. LB Anthony Walker Jr.
  6. CB Mackensie Alexander
  7. RB Marlon Mack
  8. QB Tyrod Taylor
  9. CB Gareon Conley
  10. EDGE Ryan Kerrigan

Garden State Gridiron - Offseason Preview

The New York Jets find themselves on the precipice of a new era in their team’s history. Almost two years into the Joe Douglas era and about a month into the Robert Saleh chapter, the Jets could go in nearly any direction with this offseason. The Jets are one of the most flexible teams in terms of the salary cap, so they will have the opportunity to make some significant moves this year.
